Global Students for Climate Justice
United for Action. Inspired by Justice.
Who We Are
Global Students for Climate Justice (GS4CJ) is envisioned as a worldwide youth movement championing bold and equitable climate solutions. We aim to unite students from every continent to demand justice, action, and a safe future for all.
GS4CJ was founded under the umbrella and assistance of the Centre for the Promotion of Global Health (CPGH). Learn more here.
“We are on a highway to climate hell with our foot still on the accelerator.”
- UN Secretary General António Guterres, 2022
Despite strong leadership from the UN, many countries have not followed through on their pledges.
Our Mission
✦ Support the International Court of Justice Decision: We stand behind the ICJ’s call for urgent climate action and accountability from governments and corporations worldwide.
✦ Global Youth for Climate Justice: Youth everywhere are mobilizing for climate justice—insisting that the planet’s health, our futures,
and human rights are protected by
law, not just promises.
Our Call: Strengthening Legally-Binding Agreements on Biodiversity Protection
✔ Countries around the world have made important pledges regarding diverse environmental concerns. For example, the Biodiversity 30×30 Pledge (2022) aims to designate 30% of land and 30% of ocean areas as protected by 2030.
We are proposing that these pledges be strengthened with renewed commitments to make them legally binding. Read more about the evidence behind this approach here.
✔ To achieve this, Global Students for Climate Justice is calling for a follow-up summit to act as a turning point at which parties convert the Kunming-Montréal Framework from an ambitious plan into binding, budgeted, and rights-based action. Without this shift from promises to enforceable practice, we will fall short of our 2030 objectives.
✔ Canada is uniquely positioned to lead this initiative. Let’s make it happen!
We are thrilled to be hosting our inaugural Concert for Our Future fundraiser this upcoming April 25, 2026, in partnership with Montreal’s historic Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul.
Beneficiaries will include the Coalition for Rainforest Nations and the Jane Goodall Foundation.
Concert for Our Future - A Message of Hope
Centred on the theme “Our Narrow Window,” the concert will also feature an informative climate speaker. The event will be live streamed globally, engaging audiences far beyond the city.
